Planning a saltwater trip? An hour of double haul practice can prepare you for those long distance shots on the flats. Looking to get your kids into fly fishing? Intro casting lessons on a lawn or small pond can cut years off the learning curve.

Meet on the river for 2-3 hours to implement various fly angling techniques in the presence of moving water. Excellent opportunity for intermediate anglers to dial-in specific angling approaches, understand rigging, and learn to read water.

Examples include: spey fishing, dry fly presentations, indicator nymphing for steelhead, euro-nymphing for trout. All equipment provided.

Instruction can occur within roughly 45 minutes of the Greater Traverse City area. Public parks with mowed grass areas and small ponds are often utilized for casting lessons. The Boardman, Betsie, and Platte Rivers offer excellent locations for on-water technique classes.
